Interfacing TD242LP to Intel StrongArm SA1110 Processor

TD242LP Memory Map
The TD242LP has the following memory map. Although a 13-bit address is used, only the most
significant 12 bits are actually connected to the chip as the registers and memories are accessed
in 16-bit increments.

Figure 18: TD242LP Memory Map and Address Space
The TD242LP has three different memory areas: Data Memory, Endpoint Transfer Descriptor
(ETD) Memory, and Endpoint (EP) Memory. The data memory is 4 kBytes, while the ETD and
EP memory are 512 Bytes each.
3. USB Port Circuits
This section discusses circuits between the USB ports of the TD242LP and their connectors. Note
that these issues are generic and in fact independent to that of the SA1110 interfacing. One
should consult Chapter 7 of the USB specification 2.0, as well as Chapters 6 and 7 of the
TD242LP data sheet for details.
3.1 TD242LP Port 2
This port can only serve as a standard downstream host port. Thus, it uses a USB Type A
receptacle.
