Device Initialization
The 82551IT has six sources for initialization. They are listed according to their precedence:
1. Internal Power-on Reset (POR)
2. ALTRST# pin
3. RST# pin
4. ISOLATE# pin
5. Software Reset (Software Command)
6. Selective Reset (Software Command)

Initialization Effects
The following table lists the effect of each of the different initialization sources on major portions
of the 82551IT. The initialization sources are listed in order of precedence. For example, any
resource that is initialized by the software reset is also initialized by the D3 to D0 transition and
ALTRST# and PCI RST# but not necessarily by the selective reset.
