13.4 AU4 Mode
An example of the placement of tributaries assumed in AU4 mode is illustrated in
Figure 13. For simplicity, this figure shows the frame on the OD[7:0] bus when
the STM-1 (STS-3) interface mode is enabled. In this case the outgoing VC4 is
locked to an active offset of 522 with respect to the outgoing transport envelope
frame. This particular example assumes a snapshot of the second frame of the
tributary multiframe when the V2 bytes are present. This example illustrates a
case where the VC4 carries TUG3s, all TUG3s carry TUG2s, and all TUG2s are
configured to carry TU12s.
