Digital Wrapper Overhead Processor and FEC Performance
Monitor
This block extracts the digital wrapper overhead information from the FEC frame, calculates error
statistics, processes overhead bytes, extracts stuff column bytes, and transmits the extracted overhead,
stuff column bytes, and error statistics on a serial bit stream off-chip for further processing by an
external device such as an FPGA.
2.9.1
Digital Wrapper Overhead Format
The MTC6134 supports digital wrapper overhead, as shown in Figure 25, page 118, Figure 26,
page 118, and Figure 27, page 119. Shaded fields in the following figure are not supported on the
device. These bytes are either processed by external FPGA or passed through transparently.
