Operational Mode Descriptions
The VSC6134 supports many possible combinations of operating modes and data rates. The supported
operational modes are described in the following table.
Table 64. Operational Mode Descriptions

Description
DWOH processing
Monitor and regenerate some DW overhead (SM, TCMi, and so forth.)
SONET regenerator Monitor and regenerate section and sometimes line overhead.
LFEC
StFEC
DWOH
CBR10G
Async
(S)
Line FEC, either RS or EFEC on the line side interface.
Standard OTU2 client side interface with or without RS FEC.
Digital wrapper overhead. First 16 columns of OTU2 frame.
Arbitrary transparent client with OC-192 rate but not SONET framed.
Asynchronously mapped payload. Synchronous if not specified.
Indicates payload mapped with stuff columns as per G.709.
Non-stuffed payload, supports legacy FEC devices.
(NS)
x/x
Clock ratio between client and line side interfaces.
The following modes indicate, from left to right, the type of client side interface, intermediate
processing (if any) and the line side interface. In the cases of synchronous relationship between client
and line side rates, the ratio is shown. Data paths are indicated in bold lines in the accompanying figures.
