Turnkey ISO-7816 & EMV
Single/Dual Smart Card Readers
Teridian Semiconductor 73S1112F and 73S1120F integrated circuits are the latest members
of the Teridian 73S11xxF smart card reader IC family.
Pre-programmed with the Teridian “EMV-Ready” application (embedded firmware), these
ICs become turnkey smart card readers that can be immediately connected to any host
controller through a serial interface. This allows the immediate and seamless integration of
a single or multiple smart card reader function into any microcontroller based system, in
compliance with
ISO 7816, EMV4.0, GSM11-11
and
JICSAP
specifications. The Teridian
73S1112F is a single smart card reader, whereas the 73S1120F is a dual card reader,
with the ability to support external smart card electrical interfaces (73S8010 type) if more
than 2 card slots are required. The Teridian “EMV-Ready” 73S1112F and 73S1120F appli-
cations will help dramatically simplify the design, and shorten development and certification
timescales.
The Teridian 73S11xx Development Kit, including tools and software libraries (written in
ANSI ‘C’ language) can be utilized to develop a variety of 73S1112F / 73S1120F embed-
ded applications.
