Description
The COMPuting and Telemetering
Transponder (Compatt) is a
microcomputer controlled subsea
transponder used for acoustic
navigation and positioning. The EHF
system is suitable to a wide range of
tasks such as underwater
measurement, remote control and
monitoring.

The Type 7801 Compatt Mk4 is the
Extra High Frequency (50-110 kHz)
version of Sonardyne’s fourth
generation family of transponders
built to complement the existing
range of Long Baseline products. Its
lightweight design permits easy sub-
sea installation and removal by
divers and ROVs making it an ideal
tool for use in spoolpiece
measurement applications.
