BCM88335 Data Sheet
Bluetooth Subsystem Overview
Section 4: Bluetooth Subsystem Overview
The Broadcom BCM88335 is a Bluetooth 4.1 + EDR-compliant, baseband processor/2.4 GHz transceiver. It
features the highest level of integration and eliminates all critical external components, thus minimizing the
footprint, power consumption, and system cost of a Bluetooth solution.
The BCM88335 is the optimal solution for any Bluetooth voice and/or data application. The Bluetooth subsystem
presents a standard Host Controller Interface (HCI) via a high-speed UART and PCM for audio. The BCM88335
incorporates all Bluetooth 4.1 features including Secure Simple Pairing, Sniff Subrating, and Encryption Pause
and Resume.
The BCM88335 Bluetooth radio transceiver provides enhanced radio performance to meet Automotive Grade
3 temperature applications and the tightest integration into automotive platforms. It is fully compatible with any
of the standard TCXO frequencies and provides full radio compatibility to operate simultaneously with GPS,
WLAN, and cellular radios.
The Bluetooth transmitter also features a Class 1 power amplifier with Class 2 capability.
