12.3. Functional Description
The Application Specific Power Drivers (ASPD, Figure 12-1) module handles power driving for power control
applications. PAC5253 has four low-side gate drivers (DRLx), three ultra-high-voltage high-side gate drivers (DXHx).
Each gate driver can drive an external MOSFET or IGBT switch in response to high-speed control signals from the
microcontroller ports, and a pair of high-side and low-side gate drivers can form a half-bridge driver. The open-drain
drivers provide activation control for relays, LEDs, buffers, and other loads.
Figure 12-2 below shows typical gate driver connections and Table 20 shows the ASPD resources available on PAC5253.
