General Description
This IC is ideally suited for driving bipolar stepper mo-
tors as smart actuators. Several actuators may be com-
bined to a bus system, connected by common supply,
ground and interface lines. Proprietary software algo-
rithms can be implemented either in the E
2
PROM or in
mask programmable ROM. The communication proto-
col complies to LIN rev.

with a baud rate of up to
19.2kBaud.
An autoaddressing capability is implement-
ed in the LIN circuitry. High flexibility of communica-
tion handling and motor control can be achieved by an
embedded RISC microcontroller.
